Madhya Pradesh Budget to Be Presented on February 18
The Madhya Pradesh Budget Session will begin on February 16, while the state budget will be presented on February 18. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav shared this information during a press conference on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister described the Union Budget as a guiding framework for the state and said that the upcoming Madhya Pradesh budget would be prepared in line with the priorities outlined by the central government.
Dr. Yadav stated that the state budget would present a clear economic roadmap for building an Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. Employment generation for youth, promotion of investment, and sustainable development will be the key objectives of the budget.
He further said that the Union Budget has allocated ₹1.12 lakh crore for Madhya Pradesh, and the state’s share in central tax devolution has also increased.
Focus on Capital Expenditure and Industrial Revival
Provisions related to increased capital expenditure, planned urban development, logistics ecosystem strengthening, and railway expansion in the Union Budget will also be reflected in the state budget.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that industrial revival remains a top priority for the state government. The focus on industrial renovation in the Union Budget will strengthen existing industries.
He added that the PM MITRA Park will pave the way for reviving the textile industry, and its impact will be visible in the Madhya Pradesh budget as well.
Major Cabinet Decision on Sardar Sarovar Displaced Families
Meanwhile, the state cabinet has taken a major decision regarding families displaced by the Sardar Sarovar Dam. A total of 25,602 displaced families will become permanent owners of the residential plots allotted to them on lease after a decade.
The government will provide free registration of these residential plots, granting permanent ownership rights to the affected families.
