Approval of Projects and Schemes Worth ₹3867 Crores
On May 20, during the 300th birth anniversary celebrations of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was held at Rajwada Durbar Hall, Indore. In honor of her values and ideals, several important schemes and construction projects amounting to ₹3867 crores were approved.
Ahilyabai Holkar Training Scheme
The cabinet gave in-principle approval for the 'Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Training Scheme' aimed at connecting youth with employment. Under this scheme, skill development programs will be conducted for youth. Needy individuals will receive an interest subsidy of up to ₹10,000 per person over a lifetime, with an annual interest relief of ₹1,000. The estimated annual expenditure for the scheme is ₹100 crores.
Approval of Madhya Pradesh Metropolitan Region Planning and Development Act – 2025
The cabinet approved the 'Madhya Pradesh Metropolitan Region Planning and Development Act – 2025'. Under this Act, 'Metropolitan Planning Committees' and 'Metropolitan Region Development Authorities' can be established for regions including Indore-Ujjain-Dewas-Dhar and Bhopal-Sehore-Raisen-Vidisha-Biaora (Rajgarh).
According to constitutional provisions, CM Dr. Yadav had announced the creation of these bodies for cities with populations exceeding 10 lakh, aiming for holistic regional development. The Development Authority will draft development plans, get approval from the Planning Committee, and send it to the state government for final authorization. Once approved, the implementation will be managed by the Development Authority.
The plan includes development in education, industry, healthcare, and other sectors based on geographic needs, ultimately supporting employment and economic growth.
Revised Approval for Advait Lok Museum
A revised budget of over ₹2195 crores has been approved for the construction of Acharya Shankar Museum, titled "Advait Lok".
Construction of Working Women Hostels in Industrial Areas
The cabinet also approved the construction of working women hostels in 4 industrial areas of the state at a cost of ₹249.66 crores.
