A new and big system has been implemented in Madhya Pradesh. This system is for urban bodies. According to the ordinance issued, now no no-confidence motion can be brought against the president of any municipality or municipal council in the state before a period of three years. The Governor has given permission on this. As soon as the permission of Governor Mangubhai Patel was received, the Law and Legislative Department notified and made effective the Madhya Pradesh Municipality Second Amendment Ordinance 2024. After the notification of this ordinance, now no no-confidence motion can be brought against the president of the municipality and municipal council in Madhya Pradesh before three years. For this, the proposal can be submitted only with the signature of three-fourths of the councilors. This new system has been implemented by the state government by amending Section 43A of the Municipality Act 1961 through ordinance.
