Major Change in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Madhya Pradesh: Financial Assistance in Three Installments
A major change has been made in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Madhya Pradesh. Beneficiaries will now receive financial assistance for building houses in three installments. Each installment will be ₹40,000, totaling ₹1,20,000. The first installment will be released as soon as the housing project is approved. Additionally, job card holders will receive separate wages for their work, distinct from the funds for house construction. This new system will bring transparency to the construction process and ensure that help reaches those in need on time.
Under the new system, the payment process has been simplified and made more transparent by dividing it into three equal installments. Beneficiaries will receive three installments of ₹40,000 each. The first installment will be transferred to the beneficiary's bank account as soon as the housing project is officially approved, allowing them to lay the foundation of the construction. The remaining two installments will be released based on the progress of the construction work.
Separate Wages for Job Card Holders: A key aspect of this scheme is that, in addition to the ₹1.20 lakh provided for house construction, beneficiaries will also receive separate wages based on their job cards, reducing the financial burden on poor families. It is expected that this change will speed up the construction process, as the distribution of funds will now be phased and assured. The government's goal is to ensure that needy families receive their permanent homes without any delays.
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is an ambitious central government scheme launched on June 25, 2015. The aim of the scheme is to provide permanent homes to families from economically weaker sections (EWS), lower-income groups (LIG), and middle-income groups (MIG) by 2024-25. The scheme promotes the construction of affordable housing and provides home loan interest subsidies (CLSS) and essential basic facilities.
