Microsoft to Invest ₹1.57 Lakh Crores in AI and Infrastructure in India
Despite pressure from US President Donald Trump, Microsoft is set to invest ₹1.57 lakh crores (17.5 billion dollars) in India, marking the company's largest-ever investment in Asia. The funds will be used to strengthen AI, cloud, and data center infrastructure. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made the announcement after meeting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 9. He highlighted the significant potential of AI in India and the need to build infrastructure, skills, and capacity to leverage it effectively.
