Ministry of Defence Declares 2025 as 'Year of Reforms'

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a meeting on the eve of the new year with all secretaries of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to review the progress of various plans, projects, reforms, and the path ahead. To expedite ongoing and future reforms, it was unanimously decided that 2025 will be celebrated as the 'Year of Reforms' in the Ministry of Defence.

The goal is to transform the armed forces into a technologically advanced, combat-ready force capable of multi-domain integrated operations. The following broad areas have been identified for focused intervention in 2025:

• Strengthening jointness and integration initiatives.
• Facilitating the establishment of integrated theater commands.
