Modern Wellness Cottage Hub to be Built in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

The capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, is set to take a big step towards becoming the wellness tourism capital. Pt. Khushilal Sharma Ayurvedic College will build modern wellness cottages on the beautiful banks of Kaliyasot Dam.

These cottages will not only offer facilities like Panchakarma and body detox with scenic views of hills, dam, and forests but also provide families an opportunity to transform traditional holidays into wellness vacations.

Dr. Umesh Shukla, Principal of Khushilal Institute, shared details about this new plan during a press tour on Friday. He stated that this initiative is based on the tremendous success of the existing government super specialty and Panchakarma wellness center at the institute, which currently operates at a 95% permanent occupancy rate with regular reports sent to the central AYUSH ministry.

Building on this success, a proposal is being prepared under the National AYUSH Mission to create wellness cottages. These cottages will be located on the hill right below the existing center, forming an integrated wellness hub. A special team of architects will soon be appointed to finalize the design and location of these cottages.

Ayurvedic and Customized Diet

Patients and wellness visitors will receive special Ayurvedic diets tailored to their health and ailments. Expert doctors will provide an Ayurvedic food menu, allowing individuals to select diets according to their preferences, ensuring proper nutrition based on individual needs.

Growing Medical Tourism from Panchakarma and Wellness Center

The Panchakarma and Wellness Center at Pt. Khushilal Sharma Ayurvedic College plays a crucial role in promoting medical tourism. It is the only government center of its kind in India, having treated over 50 patients from seven countries including the UAE, Hong Kong, USA, Canada, Germany, South Korea, and Japan, demonstrating increasing global trust in Indian Ayurveda.

Twelve New Wellness Centers to be Built in the State

On June 20, AYUSH department officials announced that inspired by the success of the Khushilal College Panchakarma and Wellness Center, 12 new AYUSH wellness centers will be established across the state. Ten centers will have 10 beds each with a total investment of 125 crore INR.

These centers will be specially located in high tourist areas to boost medical tourism further. Large centers with 50 beds each will be built in prominent tourist destinations like Ujjain and Khajuraho at a cost of 15 crore INR each, benefiting both domestic and international tourists seeking Ayurvedic wellness.
