Key Decisions of Madhya Pradesh Cabinet (April 28, 2026)
₹10,000 Monthly Stipend for OBC Students
The Madhya Pradesh government will now provide a monthly stipend of ₹10,000 to OBC students pursuing higher education while staying in Delhi. Previously, this amount was ₹1,550, marking a 6.5-fold increase.
The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held on April 28, 2026, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The revised financial assistance will be effective from April 1, 2026.
- 150 new students will be selected annually
- 100 seats for undergraduate courses
- 50 seats for postgraduate courses
- Current beneficiaries (400–500 students) will continue receiving support
- Eligibility: Post-matric scholarship beneficiaries with annual family income up to ₹1 lakh
Funding for Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal
₹79.16 crore has been approved for Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. This funding will support infrastructure, equipment, and facilities for 266 PG seats, including 66 new seats.
Rewa Medical College Expansion
₹174.80 crore has been approved for increasing bed capacity and installing modern diagnostic machines at Shyam Shah Medical College, Rewa.
Lakhundar Irrigation Project (Shajapur)
₹155.82 crore has been sanctioned for the Lakhundar irrigation project in Shajapur. The project will irrigate 9,200 hectares of land across 24 villages.
Electrification of Anganwadi Centers
₹80.41 crore has been approved to electrify 38,901 anganwadi buildings across the state. Facilities such as tube lights, fans, coolers, smart TVs, and water purifiers will be installed.
PWD Development Plan (2026–2031)
A total budget of ₹26,311 crore has been approved for construction and renovation projects under the Public Works Department between 2026 and 2031.
