MP Government Offers $40,000 Per Year for Overseas Education
The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a major initiative for students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad. Under the scholarship scheme for meritorious students, the government will provide thousands of dollars in assistance each year.
As per the official information, the Department of Higher Education in MP is running a scholarship program that supports students going abroad for higher studies. Each year, financial aid is provided to 20 eligible students under this scheme.
Who Can Apply for the Scheme?
- Students whose family income is less than ₹8 lakh per annum.
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh.
- Maximum age is 25 years for postgraduate courses and 35 years for Ph.D.
- Admission to a recognized foreign university is mandatory.
- Must have qualified exams like GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, or IELTS.
- For Ph.D.: A minimum of 75% marks in master’s degree, and either two years of teaching experience in a government college or an M.Phil degree from an MP university is required.
Financial Assistance under the Scholarship
The scheme provides up to $38,000 per year for actual expenses, plus an additional $2,000 for academic costs like books, equipment, typing, thesis binding, etc. Thus, the total annual aid can go up to $40,000 or its equivalent in local currency.
The recipient must sign a bond agreement with the state government to avail of the scholarship.
