MP to Launch Unified Portal with 1700 Services for Citizens
On June 13 in Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the Department of Science and Technology will play a vital role in delivering services to the general public. He directed the launch of a Unified Portal System integrating 1700 services from various departments to offer all citizen services at a single platform. He also instructed the use of hoardings to raise awareness about departmental functions at the grassroots level.
Tech Innovations for Singhast-2028
Dr. Yadav instructed MPSEDC to develop software/apps for Singhast-2028 to be held in Ujjain and coordinate with the Urban Development Department for its execution.
Expansion of Drone Policy
With the implementation of the new drone policy, the Chief Minister emphasized creating an action plan for using drones in law enforcement and urban traffic management. He also stressed enhancing drone-based monitoring and data collection capacities, noting that several departments have already started drone-based surveillance and surveys.
National Workshop on Yoga Day
On June 21, a national workshop on "Astronomy and Indian Knowledge Tradition" will be held in Dongla, Ujjain, as part of International Yoga Day celebrations. The Varahamihir Astronomical Observatory will host yoga camps, science shows, STEM workshops, and lectures.
IT Parks and Investment
IT Parks have been developed in Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Gwalior. The Chief Minister called for more IT parks to be developed through the PPP model, upgrading engineering colleges to IIT standards, and increasing investment in the information technology sector.
Cybersecurity Measures
To prevent cyberattacks, the formation of the Madhya Pradesh Computer Emergency Response Team (MP-CERT) has been proposed. Every department will appoint a Chief Security Officer, and all IT projects will undergo security audits. This year, 134 network attacks were prevented and 72 suspicious IPs were blocked during Operation Sindoor.
Space Tech Policy and Digital Initiatives
Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Dubey informed that a space tech policy will soon be introduced. Ongoing initiatives include cybersecurity training by MP-CERT, mapping of Narmada River deepening, e-HRMS, the Unified Portal, a data center, AVGC lab, and startup promotion.
Chief Secretary’s Directives
Chief Secretary Anurag Jain called for a zonal plan for drone surveys, coordination with the Home Department for cybersecurity, a tech roadmap for Singhast-2028, and the adoption of the IIT-Madras model to support startups.
