MPPSC Food and Safety Officer Recruitment: Posts Reduced from 120 to 67
After a long wait, on June 23, the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) released a fresh notification for the recruitment of Food and Safety Officers. However, unlike the earlier notification which included 120 posts, the new notification is only for 67 posts.
This reduction in vacancies has surprised candidates, as earlier expectations were for at least 150 posts in the revised notification. As per MPPSC, the recruitment notification has been released for only the positions officially approved and forwarded by respective departments.
Candidates can apply online from July 11 to August 10, 2025. The age will be calculated as of January 1, 2026. Out of the total, 64 posts are in the general category and 3 are in the provisional category (13% share).
Previous Notification Was Cancelled in April
The earlier notification was cancelled in late April following protests by candidates regarding eligibility criteria. Thousands had applied for the previous notification released on December 31, 2024, with the application process starting March 28, 2025, and ending April 27. The written OMR-based exam was tentatively scheduled for October 12.
After the cancellation, the application fees were refunded to candidates. The new notification, however, has not specified dates for the written exam or interview.
