Mukhyamantri Udyam Kranti Yojana of MSME department, which connects youth with self-employment, has been awarded as semi-finalist in the prestigious Scotch of Merit. This award has been given in the field of empowering MSME in Madhya Pradesh, promoting entrepreneurship and economic development and transparency. It is noteworthy that under the scheme, loans worth Rs. 1056 crore 42 lakh have been provided to 16 thousand 331 youth.
Mukhyamantri Udyam Kranti Yojana
Mukhyamantri Udyam Kranti Yojana has been started with the objective of providing collateral free loan at concessional interest rate through bank to connect the educated youth of the state with self-employment. Under the scheme, loan is provided for project cost ranging from Rs. 50 thousand to Rs. 50 lakh for industrial (manufacturing) unit and Rs. 50 thousand to Rs. 25 lakh for service and retail business.
The age of the applicant willing to set up an enterprise should be between 18 and 45 years. The applicant should have passed at least 8th standard and the family income should not exceed Rs. 12 lakh. Also, the applicant should not be a beneficiary of any other self-employment scheme and should not be a defaulter of any bank or financial institution. Under the scheme, there is a provision to provide interest subsidy at the rate of 3 percent per annum to the beneficiary on annual basis for a maximum of 7 years. Also, there is a provision to reimburse the loan guarantee fee, at the prevailing rate, for a maximum of 7 years.
