The Government has declared 23 August as "National Space Day" to celebrate the remarkable success of Chandrayaan-3 mission. On this day Vikram Lander made a safe and soft landing and Pragyan Rover was deployed on the surface of the Moon near the South Pole. This historic achievement puts India in an exclusive group of countries to hoist the flag of victory in space, with this achievement India has become the fourth country to land on the Moon and the first country to reach the surface of the Moon near the South Pole of the Moon. The celebration of this achievement is being done across the country during July and August 2024, its aim is to involve and inspire the young generation in the field of space science and technology.
