16-Year-Old Nidhi Dogra Sets 6 World Records in Yoga

16-year-old yoga athlete Nidhi Dogra from Himachal Pradesh is set to make history as the first Yogasana athlete to represent her state at the Khelo India Youth Games 2025.

Currently competing at the Yogasana events in Gaya, Bihar, Nidhi aims not only to open the medal account for Himachal but also to showcase her extraordinary skills and secure a podium finish.

Having performed consistently at the Khelo India Asmita League over the last two years, Nidhi has already earned six world records in yoga. She trains at Karm Yogshala Yogasana Sports Coaching Center in Hamirpur and has won medals at the national level in school yoga competitions.

Her father, a yoga teacher in a government school, has been her inspiration and coach. Nidhi shares, “Watching my father teach yoga to children inspired me. I trained under him, and I credit all my success to him. After winning a bronze medal in the SGFI Artistic Event this January, I was selected for Khelo India 2025.”

The Khelo India Asmita League aims to provide a platform for female athletes nationwide. Nidhi credits this initiative for helping her grow and is eager to deliver her best performance at the national level.

International and National Achievements

Nidhi has proven her talent internationally by winning a gold medal at the 2020 International Yoga Olympic Games and the 2021 Artistic Yoga Singles World Championship. She also has three bronze medals from national Yogasana sports competitions and has been titled the Best Yoga Player of Himachal Pradesh.
