Nidhi Tiwari Appointed as PM Modi's Personal Secretary

On March 31, the Government of India appointed IFS officer Nidhi Tiwari as the Personal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with immediate effect. According to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Cabinet Appointment Committee approved her appointment.

Nidhi Tiwari is currently serving as an Under Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). The notification states that she will serve in the role of Personal Secretary at level 12 of the pay matrix, either for a fixed term or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Tiwari hails from Mahmoorganj in Varanasi, which has been the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi since 2014. She secured the 96th rank in the Civil Services Examination in 2013. Prior to clearing the UPSC exam, she worked as an Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Tax) in Varanasi while preparing for the exam.
