Nobel Peace Prize 2026: 287 Nominations Announced

A major update has emerged regarding the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. Former US President Donald Trump is reportedly among the nominated candidates for the prestigious award.

According to Kristian Berg Harpviken, Secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, a total of 287 candidates have been shortlisted this year, including 208 individuals and 79 organizations.

Harpviken stated that Trump could be one of the nominees, but the committee does not officially confirm any names. The confidentiality of nominations is maintained for 50 years.

Reports from Reuters suggest that leaders from Cambodia, Israel, and Pakistan have nominated Trump for the award. However, the committee clarified that a nomination does not imply endorsement or support.

After assuming office in his new role, Harpviken said that despite increasing global conflicts and pressure on international cooperation, the relevance of the Nobel Peace Prize is stronger than ever, making it even more significant in today’s world.
