Japan on November 4 launched its new flagship H3 rocket carrying a defense communications satellite from the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture. The satellite successfully separated from the H3 rocket developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and soon entered its designated orbit. The satellite aims to enhance information sharing among Japan's self-defense forces. Japan's next-generation H3 rocket is set to completely replace the operation of the H2A rocket, which is expected to end next March in fiscal year 2024 with the launch of rocket number 50.
