Odisha Extends PUCC Rule Enforcement to 1st April
The Odisha government has once again postponed the implementation of the rule that mandates a Pollution Control Certificate (PUCC) for fueling vehicles. State Transport Minister Vibhuti Bhushan Jena has announced that the "No PUCC, No Petrol" rule will now be strictly enforced starting from April 1st, 2026. Vehicle owners have been given time until March 31st to obtain a valid PUCC.
Originally, this rule was to come into effect on January 1st, but it was first delayed until February 1st. With this second extension, the new enforcement date has been set for April 1st. The Minister stated that the decision to delay was made to provide the public with adequate time to comply, ensuring that no one faces sudden difficulties and all vehicles are aligned with the regulations.
