On August, India launched its first reusable hybrid rocket RHUMI 1. The rocket was launched from Thiruvidandhai in Chennai via a mobile launcher. The rocket has been jointly built by Tamil Nadu-based startup Space Zone India and Martin Group. Through the hybrid rocket RHUMI 1, 3 cube satellites and 50 PICO satellites will be successfully placed in suborbital trajectory. These satellites will collect data for research related to global warming and climate change. The RHUMI 1 rocket is equipped with a generic fuel-based hybrid motor and an electrically triggered parachute system. The rocket has been specially designed with a focus on flexibility and reusability. With its help, the components of the rocket can land safely back on the sea, which will reduce the cost of space launch. The components of the rocket can be easily recovered and its air frame is made of carbon fiber, glass fiber. The three cube satellites sent into space with the rocket will be able to review atmospheric conditions such as cosmic radiation, UV radiation and air quality.
