पिछले 16 साल की मशक्कत के बाद लोक सभा चुनाव से ठीक पहले सरकार ने यूरोपीयन फ्री ट्रेड एसोसिएशन (एफ्टा) के साथ ट्रेड एंड इकोनॉमिक पार्टनरशिप एग्रीमेंट (टेपा) करने में सफलता हासिल कर ली। एफ्टा में यूरोप के चार विकसित देश स्विट्जरलैंड नॉर्वे आइसलैंड व लाइकेटेनस्टीन शामिल हैं। भारत के वाणिज्य व उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल व इन देशों के समकक्ष मंत्रियों ने टेपा पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

After 16 years of hard work, just before the Lok Sabha elections, the government succeeded in signing the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). EFTA includes four developed countries of Europe, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. India's Commerce and Industry Minister PiyushGoyal and counterpart ministers of these countries signed TEPA.
