Operation Sindoor: 10-Year-Old Shravan Singh Emerges as the Youngest Warrior
On May 28, during Operation Sindoor, people were deeply moved by the courage of a young boy from the border village of Tarawali in Mamdot, Ferozepur. Just 10 years old, Shravan Singh played a vital role by providing Indian Army soldiers with milk, water, buttermilk, and cold drinks.
Shravan was recognized for his bravery and selflessness by Major General Ranjeet Singh Manral, GOC of the 7th Infantry. As a young civil warrior, Shravan stayed close to the soldiers stationed on his family’s farmland, offering constant support from the first day of the operation.
According to his father, Sona Singh, Shravan would bring cold water, milk, tea, buttermilk, and ice from home without being told. They never stopped him, as his dedication to the army brought joy and pride to the family. Shravan aspires to join the army when he grows up and serve the nation with honor.
In appreciation of his efforts, the Indian Army gifted Shravan with a present, treated him to a special meal, and even gave him ice cream. His deep affection for the soldiers and patriotic spirit left a lasting impression on everyone involved in Operation Sindoor.
