Film on PM Narendra Modi's Childhood to Be Screened in Schools

The Ministry of Education has issued special directions to CBSE, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) affiliated schools to screen the film "Chalo Jeete Hain", inspired by childhood events of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The film will be shown in schools from September 16 to October 2, 2025.

On September 11, the Ministry sent a circular to all schools, clarifying that the purpose of this film is to foster values like service, responsibility, and character building among students. It emphasized that "Chalo Jeete Hain" is not just entertainment but a moral case study that encourages reflection, empathy, and critical thinking. The initiative is a part of the ‘Prerna’ program, which is operated from the historic Vernacular School in Vadnagar, Gujarat, where PM Modi completed his early education.

Prerna Program Based on 9 Core Human Values

The Prerna Program is built on nine core human values: self-respect and humility, bravery and courage, hard work and dedication, integrity and purity, compassion and service, innovation and curiosity, diversity and unity, faith and belief, freedom and responsibility. The film reflects these values and brings alive the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda: “Only those truly live who live for others.”

Film Recognition and Public Screenings

The film has won the 66th National Film Award for “Best Non-Feature Film on Family Values.” The Ministry believes the inspirational story of this film can positively influence the thoughts and behavior of the younger generation.

Besides schools, "Chalo Jeete Hain" will also be screened in select theatres across the country from September 17 to October 2 and is also available on YouTube for wider reach.
