The government has appointed former Health Secretary Preeti Sudan as the Chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC Chairperson). She will replace Manoj Soni. Currently she is a UPSC member. Her tenure will be till April 2025. Manoj Soni resigned on July 4, which was accepted by the President. Preeti Sudan is a 1983 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre. She retired from the post of Union Health Secretary in July 2020. She has held many important posts including Union Health Secretary.
