Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi Appointed Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University

Renowned economist and policy thinker Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi officially assumed office as the Vice Chancellor of Nalanda University on May 21. The ceremony was attended by interim Vice Chancellor Prof. Abhay Kumar Singh, faculty members, and students of the university.

The gathering warmly welcomed Prof. Chaturvedi and extended their best wishes as he embarked on his new role. In his address, Prof. Chaturvedi referred to the university’s motto, “Ano Bhadrah Kratavo Yantu Vishwatah,” stating that it connects us with our eternal values.

He emphasized that Nalanda has always symbolized an open and inclusive intellectual tradition, fostering dialogue enriched by a global outlook and the heritage of Indian scholarship. He acknowledged that the university has carved out a unique identity as a distinguished center of learning in recent years.

Prof. Chaturvedi also referenced the Prime Minister’s recent visit to Nalanda, noting that it infused the institution’s future direction with renewed energy. Calling his new role a privilege and honor, he expressed his pride in contributing to the revival of Nalanda.
