RGPV Bhopal and Jabalpur Medical University to be Divided into Three Parts
The Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) in Bhopal and the Jabalpur Medical University may soon be divided into three parts each. For RGPV, new regional campuses are being planned in Jabalpur and Ujjain, while the medical university will have proposed divisions in Bhopal and Ujjain. A high-level decision on this matter is expected soon.
The concerned departments have started working on the division of assets and liabilities of both universities. The process of defining new jurisdictions is also underway. This significant potential decision came to light when a note from Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached the relevant departments.
The note mentions that a review of the entire matter could take place on May 9. This is not limited to just one or two departments; the note has reached 17 departments including Urban Development, Rural Development, Revenue, Health, Finance, Technical Education, Science & Technology, Culture, Tourism, Public Health Engineering, Agriculture, Higher Education, School Education, General Administration, Home, Aviation, and Industry, prompting administrative activity.
All departments were asked to report on the progress made on 45 key points decided at the high level. Many departments have submitted details regarding timelines, budget availability, and work status. Officials mentioned that such a coordinated review is happening for the first time. However, if the Chief Minister attends the oath-taking ceremony in West Bengal, the review meeting date may be postponed.
