Russia Invites PM Modi to Victory Day Parade
Russia has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the Victory Day Parade on May 9, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany. This information was provided by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, who stated that Russia hopes Prime Minister Modi will participate in this year's Victory Day parade. According to Russian news agency TASS, Rudenko mentioned on April 8, "An invitation has been sent to Prime Minister Modi, and preparations for this visit are underway. The visit should take place this year."
Russia has invited leaders from several allied countries to this year's Victory Day parade. In January 1945, the Soviet army began its offensive against Germany. On May 9, Germany's Commander-in-Chief signed the unconditional surrender agreement, marking the end of World War II. This day is celebrated as Victory Day in Russia.
