Samrat Choudhary Becomes First BJP Chief Minister of Bihar
Bihar Enters BJP Era with First Chief Minister from the Party
Following the resignation of Nitish Kumar on April 14, a new political era has begun in Bihar with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coming to power. For the first time in the state's history, a BJP leader has taken oath as Chief Minister, marking a significant milestone for the party.
After initial uncertainty was cleared by Union Agriculture Minister and senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Samrat Choudhary's name was officially confirmed for the top post.
Samrat Choudhary has assumed charge as the 24th Chief Minister of Bihar. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Syed Ataul Hasnain.
