School Quality Task Forces to Be Formed in States
NITI Aayog has advocated the formation of task forces at the state and district levels to improve the quality of schools across the country. It has also suggested integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) to promote creative and student-centered learning.
In its report titled "School Education System in India: Time-Based Analysis and Policy Framework for Quality Improvement", the commission has provided 13 recommendations to enhance school education quality.
The five academic recommendations include fundamental changes in teaching methods, assessment and learning, emphasis on holistic education and student welfare, reimagining vocational education and skill integration, strengthening Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), and integrating AI into educational innovation.
The eight systemic recommendations focus on improving school structure through composite schools and evidence-based rationalization, strengthening infrastructure, improving governance and administrative capacity, institutionalizing a “whole-of-society approach” through state and district-level task forces, and empowering School Management Committees.
