Shashi Shekhar Vempati Appointed as CBFC Chairman

Shashi Shekhar Vempati, former CEO of Prasar Bharati and recipient of the Padma Shri award, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). He will succeed the renowned lyricist and writer Prasoon Joshi, who was recently appointed as the Chairman of Prasar Bharati.

Vempati will hold the position for a term of three years from the date of taking charge.
