Shatrugjit Singh Kapoor Appointed as New ITBP Director General

Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Shatrugjit Singh Kapoor has been appointed as the new Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on 14 January. He will succeed the current ITBP Director General, Praveen Kumar.

Praveen Kumar has been appointed as the new chief of the Border Security Force (BSF). The leadership changes are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen India’s border management and internal security framework.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police plays a crucial role in safeguarding India’s borders in the Himalayan region and maintaining internal security in high-altitude and sensitive areas.
