Shivraj Singh Chauhan became Agriculture Minister in Modi Government 3.0, called the first meeting of officials as soon as he got the ministry

Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, popularly known as 'Mama' in Madhya Pradesh, has been given a place in Modi Government 3.0 for the first time and he has become a minister at the center. He has been assigned the Union Agriculture Ministry. Apart from this, he has also been assigned the Rural Development Ministry. Shivraj Singh Chauhan became the new Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister of the country. Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who has been a Chief Minister four times and an MP six times, has become the Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister of the country. Apart from this, he has also been assigned the Rural Development Ministry. As soon as he got the ministry, Shivraj Singh Chauhan has called the first meeting of the officials of the ministry at Madhya Pradesh Bhawan in Delhi. Let us tell you that Shivraj Singh Chauhan has won from Vidisha seat in this Lok Sabha election by a huge margin of 8 lakh votes. Under his leadership, BJP had won a huge majority in Madhya Pradesh in the assembly elections held last year.

Called the first meeting in MP Bhawan as soon as he got the ministry

Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 71 MPs have taken oath as ministers in Rashtrapati Bhavan on the evening of June 9. After the formation of the cabinet, portfolios are being distributed today on Monday, June 10. Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, popularly known as 'Mama' in Madhya Pradesh, has been given a place in Modi Government 3.0 for the first time. Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who has been the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for 4 times, has been made the Union Agriculture Minister. He has also been entrusted with the Ministry of Rural Development. As soon as he got the ministry, he has called a meeting of officials in Madhya Pradesh Bhawan. It is believed that he can make a big announcement regarding farmers.

He became MLA for the first time in 1990 after winning from Budhni

Shivraj Singh Chauhan became MLA for the first time in 1990 by winning the election from Budhni assembly seat. The very next year in 1991, he also became an MP for the first time by winning the election from Vidisha in the 10th Lok Sabha elections. In 1996, he also became an MP in the 11th Lok Sabha elections and worked as a member of the Advisory Committee in the Ministry of Human Resource Development. After this, he held the post of party general secretary in Madhya Pradesh from 1996 to 1997.

Again in 1998, he won the Lok Sabha election for the third consecutive time and worked as a member of the sub-committee in the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development. In the 13th Lok Sabha elections, he again won the election and reached Parliament. He also worked as the National President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and National Secretary of the party from 2000 to 2003.

When the BJP won the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh in December 2003, Shivraj Singh contested from Raghogarh against the incumbent Chief Minister Digvijay Singh but lost. After this, he became a member of the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Communications from 2000 to 2004 and again became an MP in the 14th Lok Sabha by winning the election for the fifth time in 2004.

Shivraj became CM after a hat-trick of victory

However, in the very next year 2005, his luck shone and he was chosen for the post of Chief Minister by the BJP. After this, in the year 2006, he contested the by-election from Budhni assembly constituency, and won the election by a margin of more than 36,000 votes on his old seat.

In 2008, Chouhan retained his Budhni seat by more than 41,000 votes and with this, gave BJP a second consecutive victory in the state. On 12 December 2008, he took oath as CM for the second time. On 8 December 2013, Chouhan again won the assembly elections and was elected to the post of CM for the third time.

After failing to get a majority in the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections on 12 December 2018, Chouhan resigned from the post of Chief Minister, after which once again on 23 March 2020, he took oath as Chief Minister for the fourth time. Even after BJP's big victory in the assembly elections held in December 2023, Shivraj Singh was not made the Chief Minister of the state and the Center gave a chance to Mohan Yadav.

Now he will do Delhi politics

When he was not made the Chief Minister of MP, speculations started from that time that the central leadership now wants to bring Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Delhi. After this, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Shivraj Singh Chouhan once again contested from Vidisha and registered a big victory by a margin of 8,17,429 votes. On June 9, he was sworn in as a cabinet minister in the Modi government and a day later on June 10, he has been given the responsibility of the Union Agriculture Ministry as well as the Rural Development Ministry.
