Odisha: Successful Test of 120 km Pinaka Guided Rocket by DRDO
India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully tested the Pinaka Guided Rocket System with a 120 km strike range. This is considered a major achievement in defense technology. The advanced features of this system, including its indigenous manufacturing and high precision, make it a reliable and decisive weapon for future combat scenarios.
On December 29, DRDO successfully tested the Pinaka "Long Range Guided Rocket" with a 120 km range. The first successful test of the Pinaka rocket was conducted at the Chandipur test range in Odisha. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO and other agencies for this achievement.
The Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher System has added a new dimension to India's indigenous defense capabilities. With a 120 km range, it will serve as a key element of India's artillery strength. This system is not only capable of striking with high accuracy over long distances but also comes with several advanced features suited to modern warfare.
The Pinaka Rocket System has been developed by DRDO, with significant participation from the Indian defense industry in its manufacturing and supply. This is a fully indigenous system that strengthens India's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative. The earlier versions of Pinaka had a range of around 40 km, which was later improved to 60 and 75 km. Now, the 120 km range version positions Pinaka among the modern artillery systems of the world.
