Sunita Williams to Attend Kerala Literature Festival Starting from January 22
NASA's former astronaut Sunita Williams will be participating in the 9th Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) starting on January 22. The organizers announced this on December 30. It is expected that Williams, who has spent more than 300 days in space, will speak about her journey beyond Earth, space science, exploration, leadership, and the enduring power of human curiosity.
Ravi DC, Managing Director of DC Books and the main organizer of KLF, said, “The Kerala Literature Festival has always believed in expanding its scope by including science, discovery, leadership, and human spirit. Sunita Williams is a symbol of courage in exploring the unknown and the discipline required to push human limits.” She has also been a supporter of DC Books and KLF, making her participation especially significant. Her presence will inspire audiences of all generations.”
Last June, during her third mission to the International Space Station with Buch Wilmore, which lasted 286 days, Williams made history by setting the record for the longest time spent in space by a woman.
The festival will also feature Nobel laureates such as Abdulrazak Gurnah, Olga Tokarczuk, and Abhijit Banerjee, Booker Prize-winning author-activist Banu Mushtaq, Olympian Ben Johnson, former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi, artist Cheyenne Olivier, economist Arvind Subramanian, and renowned writers like Gabriela Ybarra, Peggy Mohan, Shobha De, and Amish Tripathi.
