Surucci Singh’s Golden Hat-Trick in ISSF World Cup

On June 14, Indian shooter Suruchi Singh won the gold medal in the women’s 10-meter air pistol event at the ISSF World Cup. This marks her third consecutive gold medal in the World Cup, having previously won gold in Buenos Aires and Lima in April. Suruchi scored 241.9 points in the final, completing her hat-trick of personal gold medals.

After Buenos Aires and Lima, a Golden Triumph in Munich

19-year-old Suruchi Singh continues her rise as India’s shooting star by winning a third consecutive gold medal at the ISSF World Cup in Munich, this time in the women’s 10-meter air pistol event. Her performance of 241.9 in the final earned her the third gold, bringing her total medal count to four. This win also marked India’s first gold in the competition, as earlier, Sift Kaur Samra secured a bronze in the 50-meter rifle three-position event and Elavenil Valarivan won bronze in the 10-meter air rifle event.

In the final, Suruchi surpassed China’s bronze medalist, Qianxun Yao (221.7), and extended her lead with a 10.5 point advantage. Camille Jedrzejewski of France took the silver with 241.7, falling short by 9.5 points. Suruchi’s score of 9.5 in her final attempt was enough to secure the gold, as Jedrzejewski managed just 9.8. Suruchi had earlier qualified for the final with a score of 588, securing second place. Two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker finished 25th with 574 points. During the final, Manu Bhaker expressed her happiness for Suruchi's gold medal win.
