On 11th April, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is questioning Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a Pakistani-origin Canadian national, regarding his role in the planning of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The U.S. Department of Justice has made shocking revelations about Rana. Officials have reported that after the attack, which resulted in the death of 166 people, Rana had communicated with David Headley, who was crucial to the conspiracy. During the conversation, Rana justified the attacks, stating that Indians deserved it.

According to U.S. authorities, Rana praised the nine Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists involved in the attack, who were killed during the assault. He stated that they should be awarded Pakistan's highest military honor, the Nishan-e-Haider. The NIA has registered a case against Rana under charges of criminal conspiracy, waging war against India, murder, and the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act).

The NIA began its interrogation of Rana, keeping detailed records of every conversation and response. These will be included in the case diary. Every 48 hours, his medical check-up will be conducted as a precaution, given concerns that he might harm himself. Rana will be questioned about his connections with David Headley, his relationship with Lashkar-e-Taiba, and his role in the planning of the Mumbai attacks.

Sources reveal that after being granted 18 days of custody by the Patiala House Court, Rana is being held in a 14x14 ft cell on the ground floor of the NIA headquarters. The cell is equipped with two CCTV cameras, a bed, and a toilet. Multiple layers of digital security have been implemented. The cell is under 24-hour surveillance by armed security guards. Only 12 officials are permitted access to the cell.

6. When and how did he meet Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed? What information does he have about Lashkar's recruitment methods and financing?
7. What role do the Pakistani Army and ISI play in Lashkar's training, financing, and target selection?
8. Does he have any knowledge of training camps run by Lashkar-e-Taiba and Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJI)?
9. Did Headley introduce Rana to ISI, or was it the other way around?
10. What was ISI's objective? Was Mumbai the only target, or was there a plan to attack other Indian cities as well?
