UPI Payments Now Faster: Transactions in 10 to 15 Seconds

Unified Payments Interface (UPI) now offers quicker transactions thanks to a major system upgrade. From June 16, UPI payments will complete in just 10 to 15 seconds, cutting the previous wait time of up to 30 seconds by half.

This change has been implemented by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which had earlier instructed banks and payment apps such as PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm to upgrade their systems.

Previously, users had to wait up to 30 seconds for a UPI transaction to complete, but the newly updated Application Programming Interface (API) now facilitates near-instant transactions.

50 Balance Checks, Faster Validation

The new system will allow up to 50 balance checks and validation processes per transaction session, making the overall UPI experience more efficient and reliable.
