US Intelligence Chief Tulsi Gabbard Resigns from Position
United States Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has announced her resignation from the post. The Indian-origin American leader informed President Donald Trump of her decision in a resignation letter, citing her husband's serious illness as the reason for stepping down.
Gabbard’s tenure will continue until June 30. Following her resignation announcement, her subordinate Aaron Lucas has been appointed as the acting director.
According to Reuters, Gabbard shared on social media platform X that her husband is battling a rare form of bone cancer, and she wishes to remain by his side during this difficult period.
Expressing gratitude to President Trump, Gabbard stated that serving the country was a great honor and that she would always remain thankful for the opportunity.
