Women NCC Officers Training in Drone and Cyber Security

Women NCC Officers Training in Drone and Cyber Security

For the first time in the country’s only Women NCC Officers Training Academy (OTA), female Associate NCC Officers (ANO) will receive specialized training in flying drones and handling cyber threats. With the changing security landscape, drone technology and cyber security have been included in the 75-day mandatory training course syllabus for the first time.

Previously, this training was only offered to male officers, but now women officers will also be equipped with modern technological skills. The training will cover drone structure, control systems, GPS, camera sensors, cyber attacks, data theft, and digital security.

Course Content Update

Until now, the course focused on traditional drills, weapon training, disaster management, leadership, and administration. The new syllabus will introduce training on drone structure, manufacturing process, control systems, GPS, camera sensors, and battery systems. The training will emphasize the key parts of drones, including frames, motors, propellers, and control units. Additionally, disaster management will be enhanced with drones for surveying, rescue planning, and monitoring tasks.

Impact on Relief Operations

Women officers will later go across the country to train NCC cadets in these technologies, which will bring new momentum to relief efforts during disasters. Over 4,000 ANOs have already received training from OTA Gwalior, and they are guiding NCC cadets nationwide.

Nationwide High-Tech Training

ANOs from all over the country attend training at OTA Gwalior. After completing the course, they go back to their respective states and train a large number of school and college cadets. Through these women officers, high-tech training in drones and cyber security will reach youth nationwide, proving to be a significant milestone for their future and career.

OTA Gwalior – Empowering Women Since 1964

In response to the growing number of girl units, the Women NCC Training Institute was established in Gwalior in October 1964. Over time, the institute was renamed, and in 2002 it became known as OTA Gwalior. Today, this institution plays a crucial role in preparing women officers for leadership and national service.

Connecting with Modern Needs

Including drone and cyber security in the syllabus is a significant step in aligning NCC with the needs of the 21st century. This change will empower female officers with technical skills, creating a strong and modern workforce.
