22 फरवरी को मैतेई को एसटी में शामिल करने का आदेश मणिपुर हाईकोर्ट ने रद्द कर दिया।
मणिपुर उच्च न्यायालय ने मार्च 2023 में दिए गए फैसले के उस पैरा को हटाने का आदेश दिया है जिसमें राज्य सरकार से मैतेई समुदाय को अनुसूचित जनजाति (एसटी) की सूची में शामिल करने पर विचार करने को कहा गया था। अदालत ने कहा कि यह पैरा उच्चतम न्यायालय की संविधान पीठ द्वारा इस मामले में रखे गए रुख के विपरीत है।
The Manipur High Court has ordered the deletion of the paragraph from the judgment given in March 2023 in which the state government was asked to consider including the Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribe (ST) list. The court said that this para is contrary to the stand taken by the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court in this matter.
