आनलाइन गेमिंग पर मध्य प्रदेश सरकार टैक्स वसूलेगी। कैबिनेट की स्वीकृति के बाद 30 जनवरी को विधि एवं विधायी कार्य विभाग ने मध्य प्रदेश माल एवं सेवा कर संशोधन अध्यादेश 2024 की अधिसूचना जारी कर दी है। इसके माध्यम से आनलाइन गेमिंग को जीएसटी के दायरे में लाने का प्रविधान किया गया है। जीएसटी परिषद ने आनलाइन गेमिंग पर 28 प्रतिशत जीएसटी लगाने का निर्णय लिया है। अभी तक अधिनियम में इसको लेकर प्रविधान नहीं था।

विभागीय अधिकारियों का कहना है कि वस्तु एवं सेवा कर अधिनियम के अंतर्गत जुआ खेलना टैक्स के दायरे में है। आनलाइन गेमिंग के लिए जीएसटी में अलग से कोई एंट्री नहीं है। कुछ राज्यों ने आनलाइन गेमिंग को जुआ मानकर टैक्स लगा दिया। मामला उच्चतम न्यायालय गया और कहा गया कि आनलाइन गेमिंग को जुआ नहीं कह सकते हैं। इस तरह उस पर टैक्स भी नहीं लगाया जा सकता है, इसलिए संशोधन करके अलग से एंट्री लाई गई है और फिर उस पर टैक्स लगाया गया है। जीएसटी परिषद की अनुशंसा पर केंद्र सरकार टैक्स लगा चुकी है। इसकी परिधि में दांव लगाना, कैसिनो, ध्रूतक्रीड़ा, घुड़दौड़, लाटरी, आनलाइन गेम शामिल हैं।

Madhya Pradesh government will collect tax on online gaming. After the approval of the Cabinet, on January 30, the Law and Legislative Affairs Department has issued the notification of Madhya Pradesh Goods and Services Tax Amendment Ordinance 2024. Through this, a provision has been made to bring online gaming under the purview of GST. The GST Council has decided to impose 28 percent GST on online gaming. Till now there was no provision regarding this in the Act. Departmental officials say that gambling is within the ambit of tax under the Goods and Services Tax Act. There is no separate entry in GST for online gaming. Some states consider online gaming as gambling and impose tax on it. The matter went to the Supreme Court and it was said that online gaming cannot be called gambling. In this way, tax cannot be imposed on it, hence a separate entry has been brought after amendment and then tax has been imposed on it. The Central Government has imposed the tax on the recommendation of the GST Council. Its scope includes betting, casino, gambling, horse racing, lottery, online games.
