Apple Revenue Up 8%, Record Sales in India, China Declines 3.6%

Apple's iPhone sales in India are reaching new heights. Once considered a luxury for the wealthy, the iPhone has now gained massive popularity among young and middle-class buyers. As a result, Apple recorded its highest ever revenue in India during the Q3 2025 (July-September) quarter.

The company's global sales reached $102.5 billion (approximately ₹8.5 lakh crore), with India playing a major role. Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that India achieved its largest September quarter revenue to date, calling it a historic quarter for the market.

iPhone 17 Series Driving Growth

Apple CFO Kavin Parekh said the iPhone generated $49 billion in revenue, up 6% year-over-year. In India alone, the iPhone 17 series broke all sales records, with nearly 5 million units sold this quarter, placing Apple among the top 5 smartphone brands in the country.

Market research firm IDC reported a 20-25% growth in Apple's India sales, while other markets grew in single digits. Counterpoint Research noted that Made in India iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max deliveries significantly reduced supply constraints.

Premium Models Boost Revenue

Counterpoint analyst Tarun Pathak explained that Apple's growth was not just in volume but also in value. Most buyers are now purchasing newer and premium models, raising the average selling price (ASP) for the company.

Young Consumers Driving Demand

Interestingly, the iPhone is no longer just an elite product. College students, first-time job holders, and EMI buyers are emerging as new customers. Tarun Pathak noted that the iPhone has transitioned from a status symbol to a fashion statement in India.
