अमेरिका के साथ मिल कर युद्धक वाहन बनाएगा भारत
भारत और अमेरिका मिल कर टैंक और दूसरे युद्धक वाहनों का निर्माण करेंगे। इस बारे में प्रस्ताव अमेरिका की तरफ से ही आया था जिसे भारत ने स्वीकार कर लिया है। 10 नवंबर, 2023 को दिल्ली में दोनो देशों के बीच हुई टू प्लस टू वार्ता में इस बारे में बात हुई और फैसला यह किया गया कि आपसी सहयोग से थल सेना में इस्तेमाल होने वाले युद्धक वाहनों (टैंक आदि) को विकसित किया जाएगा और सह-निर्माण किया जाएगा।
इसके लिए दोनो देशों ने एक संयुक्त कार्य समूह गठित करने का भी फैसला किया है। भारत-अमेरिका के रक्षा और विदेश मंत्रियों के बीच हुई इस बैठक में रक्षा सहयोग को लेकर कई मुद्दों पर बातचीत हुई है। वार्ता के बाद प्रेस कांफ्रेंस में देश के रक्षा सचिव गिरधर अरमाने ने इस बात की जानकारी दी और बाद में अमेरिका के रक्षा सचिव लॉयड ऑस्टिन ने भी पत्रकारों से अलग से हुई एक बातचीत में इसकी पुष्टि की।
टू प्लस टू वार्ता में ऑस्टिन के अलावा अमेरिका टीम में विदेश सचिव एंटनी ब्लिंकन, भारत में अमेरिका के राजदूत एरिक गार्सेटी के अलावा कुछ दूसरे अधिकारी थे। जबकि, भारतीय टीम का प्रतिनिधित्व विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर, रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह, विदेश सचिव विनय क्वात्रा, रक्षा सचिव अरमाने, अमेरिका में भारत के राजदूत तरणजीत सिंह संधु और कुछ दूसरे अधिकारी शामिल थे।
The proposal for joint development and manufacturing of tanks and other military vehicles by India and the United States was put forth by the United States. India accepted this proposal, and on November 10, 2023, discussions took place in Delhi during the Two Plus Two dialogue between the defense and foreign ministers of both countries. It was decided that collaborative efforts would be made to develop and manufacture military vehicles, including tanks, for use in the army.
In order to facilitate this collaboration, both nations agreed to form a Joint Working Group. The discussions during the Two Plus Two dialogue covered various aspects of defense cooperation, and after the meeting, in a press conference, India's Defense Secretary Giridhar Armane provided information about the decisions taken. Later, the U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also confirmed this during a separate interaction with journalists.
Apart from Secretary Austin, the U.S. delegation in the Two Plus Two dialogue included Secretary of State Antony Blinken and other officials. The Indian delegation was represented by Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Secretary Vijay K. Gokhale, Defense Secretary Armane, India's Ambassador to the U.S. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, and other officials.
This collaboration marks a significant step in defense cooperation between India and the United States, and the formation of the Joint Working Group indicates a commitment to jointly develop and manufacture military vehicles for the army.
