ट्रक चालकों की सुविधा के लिए सड़क परिवहन एवं राजमार्ग मंत्रालय ने अक्टूबर 2025 से बनने वाले ट्रकों के केबिन में एयरकंडीशनर (एसी) लगाना अनिवार्य कर दिया है। मंत्रालय की ओर से 8 दिसंबर को जारी अधिसूचना के अनुसार, एक अक्टूबर 2025 या इसके बाद बनने वाले एन-2 और एन-3 श्रेणी के वाहनों के केबिन में एसी लगाना होगा।

सड़क परिवहन मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने इसी वर्ष जुलाई में ही ट्रक चालकों के लिए केबिन में एसी लगाने को अनिवार्य बनाए जाने के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दिए जाने की जानकारी दी थी। केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा था कि माल ढुलाई में ट्रक चालक बहुत अहम भूमिका निभाते हैं। ऐसे में उनके कामकाज के हालात और मनोदशा को ठीक रखने के लिए इस पर ध्यान देना जरूरी है। उन्होंने जल्द ही ट्रकों के केबिन में एसी देना अनिवार्य करने की बात कही थी। केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा था कि कुछ लोग लागत में वृद्धि का हवाला देकर ट्रकों के केबिन में एसी लगाए जाने का विरोध कर रहे थे।

The Union Minister had said that some people were opposing the installation of AC in the cabin of trucks citing increase in cost.
