मध्यप्रदेश में कैबिनेट ने 23 जनवरी को पेश अऩेक प्रस्तावों को हरी झंडी दे दी है। लोक स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण विभाग और चिकित्सा शिक्षा विभाग अब अलग- अलग नहीं होंगे। राज्य सरकार ने चिकित्सा शिक्षा विभाग का विलय लोक स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण विभाग में कर दिया है। अब एक ही विभाग के तहत चिकित्सा शिक्षा की पढ़ाई होगी, वहीं सरकारी अस्पतालों में मिल रही स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं पहले की तरह मिलती रहेंगी। दोनों ही विभागों को एक करने से अब विभाग का बजट 15 हजार करोड़ रुपए से अधिक पहुंच गया है। इसके अलावा अब हर जिले में पीएम एक्सीलेंस कालेज खोले जाएंगे। इसमें बेहतर अंक लाने वाले विद्यार्थियों को प्रवेश दिया जाएगा। इन कालेजों के फंड की पूरी व्यवस्था राज्य सरकार करेगी।

कैबिनेट ने मप्र आयुर्वेदिक विश्वविद्यालय संशोधन अधिनियम 2011 में संशोधन के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी है, जिसके तहत अब इन विवि को भी नर्सिंग और पेरामेडिकल की पढ़ाई कराने का अधिकार मिल गया है। अब तक ये जिम्मेदारी केवल चिकित्सा शिक्षा विभाग के पास थी।

The state government has merged the Medical Education Department with the Public Health and Family Welfare Department. Now medical education will be taught under a single department, while health services provided in government hospitals will continue to be available as before. By uniting both the departments, the budget of the department has now reached more than Rs 15 thousand crores. Apart from this, now PM Excellence Colleges will be opened in every district. Students who score better marks will be given admission in this. The state government will make complete arrangements for the funds of these colleges. The Cabinet has approved the proposal to amend the Madhya Pradesh Ayurvedic University Amendment Act 2011, under which now these universities have also got the right to conduct nursing and paramedical studies. Till now this responsibility was only with the Medical Education Department.
