संयुक्त अरब अमीरात में 30 नवंबर से 28वें संयुक्त राष्ट्र जलवायु का आयोजन किया जाएगा। इस वक्त दुनिया भर में घातक गर्मी का असर आजीविका और जीवन पर पड़ रहा है। 2021-2022 में वैश्विक कार्बन डाइआक्साइड का उत्सर्जन रिकॉर्ड स्तर पर पहुंच गया है। इसका लगभग 90 प्रतिशत जीवाश्म ईंधन से आता है। कॉप-28 (सीओपी-28) के दौरान इन मुद्दों पर 200 देश प्रमुख्ता से चर्चा करेंगे।

30 नवंबर से 12 दिसंबर तक चलने वाले इस वार्ता में जलवायु परिवर्तन के दुष्प्रभावों, जीवाश्म ईंधन के इस्तेमाल, मीथेन एवं कार्बन उत्सर्जन कम करने के लिए वित्तीय सहायता और अमीर देशों से विकासशील देशों को दिए जाने वाले मुआवजे जैसे मुद्दों पर गहन बातचीत होने की संभावना है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी 1 दिसंबर को इस सम्मेलन में शामिल होंगे।
