उधर बाइडेन की पार्टी डेमोक्रेट्स ने इस कदम को पूरी तरह से राजनीतिक बताया है। वहीं, रिपब्लिकन पार्टी ने अभी तक राष्ट्रपति के खिलाफ भ्रष्टाचार के सबूत उपलब्ध नहीं कराए हैं। हंटर बाइडेन पर 1.4 मिलियन डॉलर टैक्स चोरी का आरोप है। बाइडेन के बेटे हंटर पर यूक्रेन और चीन में अपने व्यापारिक सौदों में परिवार के नाम पर प्रभावी ढंग से व्यापार करने का आरोप लगाया गया है।
